Path of Hope - bringing joy one lego brick at a time.

An update from the team at Path of Hope - a Perth Rotary initiative mobilising Rotarians to support The Salvation Army’s services that provide safety, support, and empowerment to women and children escaping family and domestic violence, while raising awareness in local communities.
 
Generosity comes in many forms, and this month, a wonderful connection within our community brought an incredible surprise: four full pallets of assorted LEGO products donated to children and young people supported by The Salvation Army’s Family Violence services. Thanks to the quiet dedication of a passionate advocate and her husband, who works with LEGO Australia, these iconic building sets will bring moments of creativity, joy, and much-needed play to young hearts during challenging times.
 

The scale and impact of the donation include:

• Four pallets with a combined freight weight of 460 kg;
• Equal allocation between the Perth and Karratha services;
• Support for services accommodating up to 90 children at any one time—and many more throughout the year as families move through the services;
• Continued delivery of LEGO Club, which currently operates every second week in Perth;
• Opportunities for children to build communication, cooperation, creativity and social problem-solving skills; and
• A safe and engaging resource that helps children develop positive peer relationships, express themselves and process significant experiences.

This extraordinary donation will bring joy, creativity and meaningful therapeutic opportunities to children rebuilding their lives after Family Violence.

The children and young people genuinely enjoy and look forward to these sessions. We have also been able to send packs to Karratha, allowing children there to benefit from LEGO Club as well.”
