Hello Rotary family,
Hoping as you read this message, life is well.
I woke up this morning feeling extremely positive, the sun is shining, I, along with my fellow Perth Rotary board members had a productive board meeting last night, successful client meetings yesterday, tasty dinner waiting for me last night when I got home after board meeting, great run into work this morning with little traffic - gee, does it get any better :)
Board meeting, yes, last night, really good discussions, I genuinely feel positive about the direction of our club. Some great ideas popped up that we will continue to workshop to see how we can always strive to better the club. One of the agenda items discussed was our centenary year. Looking at what that might look like for our club, the what, how, when. Stay tuned. As always if you have any thoughts, please communicate them.
For those that attended the Presidents Cocktail evening, thank you for coming out in support of our club and I as President. One word to sum it up – Fun. A lovely evening at Anzac House, standing on the balcony watching the sun go down – magic. A special thank you to Wendy Campbell & Rui Fernandes, you created the event, as always, a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure a smooth event on the day AND Emma Cork & Steven Stanbrook on the door. Thank you.
Our Perth Concert Hall New Years Eve Gala event was a huge success. Record year in ticket sales and net profit for the club, an outstanding result. This event would not be possible without the work done by Stephen Inouye and his team, in that team is the amazing Amanda MacGregor who takes on the best part of that work, so on behalf of the club, thank you Amanda. I wish to note Robin McClellan & Marco Camer- Pesci, Robin for handling all things VIP on the night and Marco leading the way with regards to operations.
Musical Director Mark Coughlan once again conducted a star performance with the Vienna Pops orchestra. It is incredible his ability to time the performance so perfect to the count-down. Thank you Mark for continuing to create lovely memories for all.
You may or may not know, (but I am spreading the word every chance I get), our very own Jill Dawson, who has received the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division.
As commented ‘Jill has earned her OAM for distinguished service to the community through various roles, Jill’s commitment to numerous committees, councils, and clubs show a lifelong commitment to the community in WA.’ Jill you are a true STAR. Congratulations.
I am looking forward to this coming Friday (16th), being our first Friday lunch this calendar year. Our Perth Rotary Chinese New Year luncheon with Karen Cable. If you have not got your tickets yet, please click here to book.
A final note, just to say once again, I am constantly amazed by the amount of support You give me. It is truly appreciated. Let’s all continue the great work we do. No matter how big or small, each positive impact is a positive one – that is what we do.
Thank you for reading this, as always, should something come to mind please feel free to contact me by email.
Until I see you next, stay well, stay safe.
