The Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) program began informally in the 1920s with European clubs organizing short-term student visits. The first year-long exchange took place in 1958, leading to the program's expansion. Recognizing its value in promoting international understanding, Rotary International officially adopted RYE in 1975. Today, the program sends thousands of students to over 80 countries each year, with Rotarian volunteers managing all aspects of the exchange to foster cross-cultural friendships and peace. Eva Sussex is our current OUTBOUND RYE Student, spending a year in Sweden. Read on below for a visual feast of all that Eva has experienced thus far.
